So it's 2017 Already Huh?

Eating Fabulously, Christopher Stewart, My Fab Goals for 2017, New Year, goals, 2017

It's always a great thing when a new year rolls around. Yes, we begin to panic about all the things we didn't get done in the previous year, but a new year means we get to start all over again. Although 2016 had its ups and downs, I had more ups this year than the previous year. I reflected on my 8 goals for 2016 and realized I had achieved 6 of my 8 goals. Thats pretty lit if I do say so myself.

I usually leave some open room for things I didn't plan for to happen along with my "to do" list  and my biggest accomplishment for 2016 was starting physical therapy and that wasn't even planned. Go me!

As we start 2017 this week, its time to map out a new plan for the new year ahead. Here are some of my fab goals for 2017.

End One Sided Relationships - Are you the one thats always checking in? Making sure all of the plans are set? The saying is true, people come into your life for a reason and a season. I used to feel bad about ending relationships but the older I get the more Im beginning to understand that some people come into your life for a season. This also goes for being around people who don't give you what you give them. You cant pour into other people when you yourself are empty.

Make The Most of My Mornings -  This is something Im going to work on through out the year and beyond. I am a total night person. I don't believe anything should start before 11am. Last year I started forcing myself to get up earlier and earlier each week. I have read and listened to multiple people who are extremely successful (and that I admire) all say the same thing... get up in the morning. My goal is 5am every morning. Lets see how this pans out!

Take a Class That Has Absolutely Nothing To Do with My Every Day Life  - I've always been fascinated with sign language. Every time I see someone signing, I'm so intrigued that I always want to know what they are talking about. (Or am I just nosey?!?) This year I want to step out of my comfort zone and learn how to sign. Its been on my bucket list for a long time so why not try it this year. Im always trying to do things that fit into my business and life goals and sometimes you miss out on life itself when you have tunnel vision about one particular thing.  Am I going to be the sign language champion of NYC? Probably not, but this new task is totally off path and I can't wait to try it.

Say Yes- Last year I started learning how to say no. No to things I didn't want to do, people I didn't want to be bothered with and things I wanted to nip in the bud. In 2017 I want to start saying YES. Yes to things where I don't necessarily know the outcome; Yes to things that are colorful and new, YES to people who are the complete and total opposite of me.

Enjoy Things For What they Are -  When we are in our 20's we are cruising through life trying to figure it out. In our 30's we are scrambling to settle down. Im doing the opposite in 2017. In my 20's I had everything planned out and pretty much nailed all of my goals. This year I want to take everything as it is, with a grain of salt. Stop trying to rush to this finish line, stop forcing relationships with so many rules, stop trying to live up to social media guidelines and standards. If I want to date multiple people, I will.  If I want to make a certain amount of money, I will. If I don't want to follow a certain lifestyle, I wont.

Remember, Everyone's Work Ethic Isn't My Own - This is one of my 2017 work goals. Im a hard worker when I'm on the job, especially a job I love. I don't leave until the job is done and that often means Im putting more care into a work project than all of my other co workers. This always ruffles my feathers but I have to realize that everyones work ethic isn't mine and thats completely ok. You should always go the extra mile even if no one is looking. Im sowing this work ethic as a seed for my future business and employees when I get my own team.

Get IN FRONT of The Camera - As much as I am outgoing, Im equally as shy. I love taking selfies as much as the next girl but Im looking forward to getting in front of the camera more in 2017. I want to capture more lifestyle posts on my Instagram which means a lot more full body shots. Im also easing myself into the idea of getting some professional photos taken of me. I keep trying to go around it but the time has come and it has to happen as I keep improving this blog and my budding brand.
