I don't know why, but bodies are everywhere these days. Your body, my body.. the girls bodies on Instagram. Every time I scroll through my feed or flip through a magazine, talk to friends or even turn on my tv, the female form is everywhere and most of all, everyone telling us what we should look like. Oh! and how big or small they think you should be.
I, like everyone else love boobs and booties but I unlike everyone else also see other beautiful things about a person. With cosmetic surgeries, the rise of the bottle girl and some very opinionated men, its hard being a woman right now. We are literally up against every woman we meet, making our body parts bigger and our stomachs smaller all the while catching the eye of men. How about we just focus on being dope educated fabulous women? I think we need to start here....
|I woke up like dis.. I woke up like dis..|
....."Cause every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top"....Women everywhere have something they don't like about their bodies and would easily trade it with another women. I cant tell you how many times my friends and I sit at dinner and compare and contrast what we would swap out and give to the other if we could. I, myself have things I would change about my body but hey! Im pretty darn good at being who I am and learning more about myself every day. You should be too!
...."Yeah it's pretty clear, I ain't no size two .. But I can shake it, shake it like I'm supposed to do
'Cause I got that boom boom that all the boys chase..All the right junk in all the right places"....
Everyone that knows me personally knows Im a plus size girl and always have been. Im a size 16/18 and I'm tall. Combine my weight, my 5 foot 9 inch frame, my big hair and my loud laugh and I can almost guarantee you saw me walk in the door. I love my size but I know other girls feel differently and thats ok. Whether plus size or industry standard "thin" (whatever that means these days) women need to understand that the beauty of you comes from within. The average size of the American woman today is a size 14!
The biggest asset you can have is a smile, a happy, full and blessed life, and being fabulous at whatever it is that you do. Today's woman is so caught up in body image that we forget all the other things that make us great. Have a great smile? Smile in every picture you take! Are you a world traveler? Keep getting those passport stamps boo! Do you have great sleek arms.. Buy all the sleeveless shirts in the store. Flaunt what makes you fabulous!
|I ain't no size 2..|
..."Yeah, my momma she told me don't worry about your size...She says, boys they like a little more booty to hold at night"....Ladies I'm here to tell you as a fab plus size girl .. men like a little meat on their bones and if they tell you they don't they are lying! Aside from bodies, men like a hard working woman with confidence, self esteem and a contagious vibe. A man can sense low self esteem from across the room, like a shark in the water and trust me you don't want to be his prey. Go on about your life as happy, full and fabulous as you can and you will never have to worry about a man because they will flock to you.
I honestly just want everyone to be fabulous. We as women put so much pressure on ourselves everyday and its a lot, even for myself. I constantly have to remind myself that everything is ok, Im blessed and Im fabulous (even when I don't feel like it) I too have my days where I don't feel beautiful or maybe the guy Im crushing on likes smaller women, or maybe I shouldn't apply for this job because I don't feel qualified. But I have to shake it off and remember I am fabulous and so are you.
