On my quest to chat fabulously, Im always seeking to find a fabulous eater.
I noticed Kells Barnett recently, and I just needed to know where this fly guy dined. As the director of marketing and sales at retail hot spot Harlem Haberdashery on Lenox Avenue in Harlem, I catch up with Kells to see what ingredients he keeps in his kitchen, his favorite Harlem restaurants and where he plans to eat next this summer.

Kells Barnet - Designer 5001Flavors, also Director of marketing and sales at Harlem Haberdashery.

Where did you get your Education?

BA Business 2005, MBA 2007.

What is your food philosophy?
Eat Well then sleep well

How did Harlem Haberdashery & Take Care of Harlem come about?
Very organically I randomly started #TakeCareOfHarlem without realizing that I started a movement. It has since grown city wide and inspired others to join or start a movement of their own. We have a few guys who started them in other states. Harlem Haberdashery is the retail expression of 5001 Flavors, a bespoke clothing company. We been in business 23+ years and the boutique has been open 3.

Where do you go for a no fail meal?
I go straight to Blvd Bistro All the dishes are good and Chef Carlos is dope. His fried chicken is amazing.

What's 1 item that can always be found in your kitchen?
ShopRite brand Red Chili sauce ! It's amazing! We put it on everything !

Finish this sentence... "I will never eat".....
Pig Feet or really pork in general. Bacon was once a favorite but now I eat beef bacon.

What's your food related guilty pleasure?
Hot wings & cheese fries! I can't turn them down!

With warm weather right around the corner, what new restaurants are you looking forward to dining at this summer?
Streetbird, NoBar in Brooklyn I have to hit up. Chef Bowie catered our black tie gala. Seasoned Vegan, I keep saying Im gonna try to make the switch lol and Cecil in Harlem which I still never dined at.

What are some of your favorite Harlem restaurants and bars?
BLVD bistro, Harlem Tavern,  Park 112.
