Mascara and Lashes, Christopher Stewart

(in this new section, FAB Lifestyle I talk about my personal likes aside from food, restaurants and cooking, my own twist on a mini-lifestyle blog. Catch new posts every Friday! #fablifestyefridays  )

In recent years I have become obsessed with mascara and lashes. The shorter I cut my hair, the more I began wanting my eye makeup to pop. Although I keep a pretty neutral (makeup) face, I lust over jet black volumizing and lengthening mascaras and full thick false lashes. If I could I would wear lashes everyday and if you know me personally then this statement is pretty true, I always have on some style of false strip lashes and/or mascara.  As I begin to get into this new "lifestyle section" of the blog, I figured why not start with something people ask me about all the time... What type of lashes/mascara are you wearing Christopher?

For starters its important to know your eyes! I found that my eye (shape and even thickness of my lashes) takes best to Ardell lashes most of the time. I have tried other brands and had a hard time applying them, where as Ardell seems to go on perfectly (unless Im not in the mood and get lash glue everywhere). I also find that the lashes with the clear thin band apply better for me versus the thicker black band. I do apply one coat of mascara before and after I apply the false lashes. The mascara helps the lashes to stay put, fill in gaps and gives you a little more... ommph!

As for mascara's I found out the hard way that I have a sensitivity to some popular brand mascara's, but the ones I have listed below are my true blues. I typically start with a "base" mascara if you will, usually one that helps grow your own natural lashes (i.e. Rimmel's Lash Accelorator) then I alternate between a lengthening and a volumizing mascara. Each one serves a different purpose and when applied together you can customize the look you want. I have been known to wear 3-4 different types of mascara at one time. I hope my first lifestyle post gave you a peek inside this things that make me feel fab! Stay tunes for more!
