If it were left up to me, Id eat cookies every day. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, supper, dinner, and a late night snack, cookies would be in my life and I would be ever so resistant to weight gain. *stares out the window*
I have however, come across a cookie that is not just delicious but also environmentally helpful. Back to Nature, has found a way to make their products(even the packaging) , including my current favorite the chocolate chunk cookie wholesome! These cookies were brought to my attention by some friends of my mom and I have been eating them ever since. I usually go for a soft and chewy cookies, but these relatively thick, crunchy Back to Nature cookies are my new fab find! They are made with no hydrogenated oils, no artificial preservatives, flavors, or colors, or high fructose corn syrup, no cholesterol, and 0g trans fat. Not only are these cookies delicious, Back to Nature supports The Nature Conservancy, uses Rainforest Alliance Certified cocoa beans, AND sweetens their products with evaporated cane sugar and brown rice syrup. I love the fact that by using this Rainforest Alliance Certified cocoa, cocoa farmers and their families have proper housing, education, safe working conditions, and access to medical care.
Eating Fabulously isn't all about perfectly cooked restaurant dinners, and snacks along the way. Eating Fabulously is all about knowing the who, the what, the why, the where's and the how's of the foods that you are consuming. Health focused food does not have to taste like a cardboard box... I should know because I ripped the box these cookies came in out of anger because I had eaten them all... ; <
We get our cookies at Whole Foods here in NYC, but head over to Back To Nature's website and find out where you can purchase their cookies, crackers, granola's, nuts, juices, and trail mix.
