BLUEBERRY KALE & OATS SMOOTHIE
Here we are again fab eaters! Another morning and another fab smoothie. Im proud of myself that Im keeping up with my "smoothie diet". Some of my friends are even doing it with me, but my boyfriend is NOT trying to hear it! He wants food and he wants it now! He is gonna be so jealous when Im thin! HA! Anywho, I have been searching my fav food blogs for smoothie recipes, tips, and tricks and I came across a few here and there.
Kale was the veggie choice for this week. It has been a hot foodie ticket for some time now and although I love kale sautéed or braised, I havent really gotten into it raw. And kale does soooooo many good things for your body, I picked up some for this weeks batch of morning smoothies.
Also browsing through blogs, I came across, Joy the Bakers blog and she mentioned oatmeal powder, which is oats, ground into powder. I love steel cut oatmeal but that is too course to eat without cooking, so I tried the ground oat flour. Delish!
Blueberry Carrot Kale and Oat Smoothie
1 handful of frozen blueberries
small handfull of cleaned raw kale
small handfull of peeled, sliced and blanched carrots
1/4c. vanilla soy milk
2T. vanilla low fat yogurt
1/2 banana, sliced
1t. ground flax seed
1t. oat flour
agave to taste
Blend to your desired thickness and add agave as you like..
