RESTAURANT REVIEW: MAX BRENNER

Eating Fabulously, Christopher Stewart, Max Brenner in Union Square,

I've always enjoyed sweets. Cookies, cake, candy, thats me! Pickles, olives and such were never my groove. My sweet tooth seems to be getting not worse, but horrid as I get older, hence there being a jar of gummy bears on my desk!  Being so, I jumped on the opportunity to go Max Brenner for lunch recently with some friends. When Max Brenners name is mentioned, your immediate thought is CHOCOLATE. This man is in the running with Jacque Torres for being amongst the chocolate Gods. Known for his rich chocolate creations, my raging sweet tooth and I knew that I may have just found my fix, especially since I love chocolate anyway!.....white chocolate not so much tho...thats where I draw the line.  I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!

The food menu is eclectic, which was a nice surprise since the restaurant is known for dessert. Generally I find when something is "known" for one specific thing, the other options seem to get neglected. Not the case on the food menus here. And chocolate is even incorporated on the savory side! (i.e cocoa and chili dusted waffle fries) I absolutely LOVED the plating designs and concepts. This place is nothing but whimsical and fun! Ummm did I mention the dessert menu alone is 5+ pages!
